Cancer Chronicles Ep 10: Feeling Grumpy?

Emotions on Edge: Lessons from My Cancer Journey

Ever have one of those days where life just knocks the wind out of you, and you wonder how you're supposed to keep going?

Welcome back, listeners! It’s Confessions of an Aging Ingenue with Jenni Tooley. As you already know, I’ve got cancer! And as always, I'm taking you on this journey with me. Sharing the good, the bad, the ugly and everything in-between – it’s raw vulnerability at its best.

This season happens to be about my cancer journey, but don’t worry if you’re not facing the same battle—you’ll still find plenty to relate to. I’m sharing my story, along with tips and tricks that are helping me navigate this chaotic moment with as much peace and joy as possible. And yes, expect a bit of good old rectal humor along the way.

In today’s episode, I’m feeling a little grumpy, which I think is important to share because we all have our ups and downs—whether we’re facing cancer treatment or just dealing with life’s everyday challenges.

After a tough round of radiation and chemo, I found myself grappling with some unwelcome abdominal discomfort and fatigue, leaving me questioning my energy and mental state. It’s a tough balancing act, and sometimes, it feels like the goals I’ve been visualizing and working towards are just out of reach. But amidst the chaos, I’m discovering that just because my plans aren’t coming together right now doesn’t mean they won’t happen eventually.

This episode is perfect for anyone grappling with the uncertainties of life, be it health-related or otherwise. We’re all just trying to find our way, right?

I’ll talk about the importance of acknowledging our feelings and how sometimes the goals we’re striving for can seem far away, even if they’re still within reach. Together, we’ll explore how to hold onto hope and recognize the small victories in our lives, even when they feel overshadowed by challenges. So, tune in!
